Only one hour drive from the Villa, you can play golf at the Bali Handara Golf Club, the oldest golf course in Bali. It is located in the central highlands of Bali, at Bedugul, on the crater of an extinct volcano. Designed in 1974 by Peter Thompson und Michael Wolveridge the course is surrounded by lush tropical rain forest near vertical crater walls clad in vegetation at an altitude of around 1,200 meters. It offers a par seventy-two, 6,432-yard eighteen-hole championship course. The Handara is a deceptively difficult course. There are plenty of bunkers, lakes and other water hazards to get you into difficulty. The greens and gardens are immaculate. Here, the fresh mountain air has pleasant temperatures of 14-24 degrees, even in the hottest weather. Some holes at the Bali Handara Golf Club are guaranteed to remain in your memory for a long time because of the fantastic views, others because of their difficulty. The hotel with restaurant, which is located on the golf course, is currently not recommended, as it urgently needs renovation. There are other restaurants with good offerings in the area.
Clouds are common in the afternoon, so the early morning is the perfect time to start your game here. If you arrive early, there are also less instagram people waiting in front of the famous and admittedly gorgeous entrance gate to take their selfie.
